Benazir Bhutto Graduate Scholarship
The Oxford Pakistan Programme (OPP) and Balochistan Education Endowment Fund (BEEF) are delighted to announce the launch of the Benazir Bhutto Graduate Scholarship, a transformative initiative dedicated to empowering students from Balochistan to study STEM subjects at the prestigious University of Oxford.
This scholarship honors the legacy of Benazir Bhutto and reflects the vision of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti to uplift the youth of Balochistan through world-class education. The scholarship was officially announced by Chief Minister Bugti at OPP’s Annual May Dinner and Fundraiser held at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford in 2024. A special acknowledgement goes to Imran Zarkoon Khan, Principal Secretary and Oxford alumnus, whose pivotal role and unwavering commitment to education in Balochistan made this scholarship a reality.
Scholarship Overview
The Benazir Bhutto Graduate Scholarship provides comprehensive financial support, covering tuition fees and living expenses, for talented students from Balochistan to pursue graduate studies at the University of Oxford. This initiative aims to open doors to global opportunities for deserving students, ensuring quality and equality on par with elite institutions worldwide.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Benazir Bhutto Graduate Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Domicile Requirement: Applicants must be residents of Balochistan.
- Secure Admission: Obtain an unconditional admission offer from the University of Oxford for the 2025 academic session.
- Enrollment Status: Be a newly admitted student. Applicants already enrolled at Oxford are not eligible.
- Programme Focus: The scholarship is exclusively for graduate-level programmes. Undergraduate programmes are not included.
- Field of Study: Preference will be given to PhD applicants in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.
Application Process
- Prepare Documentation: Ensure all necessary documents, including your admission offer, are ready for upload during the application process.
- Apply Online: Submit your application via our online portal. The portal will open on our website around April once Oxford’s 2025 admissions are confirmed. Please note that hard copy applications will not be accepted.
