Amna Baig

A career law enforcement officer with the Police Service of Pakistan, Amna belongs to Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan. Through her service, her focus has been on countering gender-based violence and creating easily navigable paths to access justice for women. After starting school in Dera Ghazi Khan, South Punjab, Amna moved to Rawalpindi, and completed her high school there. She did her F.A from F.G College, Kashmir Road RWP. Amna has a degree in Economics from NUST, and an LLB from University of London (external course). She is an Eisenhower Global Fellow, and a nominee for United States Secretary of State’s International Women of Courage Award. Amna was also awarded the title of Integrity Icon by accountability lab in 2020. She established Pakistan’s First Gender Protection Unit in Islamabad, which is a walk in facility for victims of Gender based violence, comes with a 24/7 hotline. Through this degree, she plans to enhance gender equity and social inclusion brought about through good governance in Pakistan.
