Scholarship Overview
The Oxford Pakistan Programme (OPP) is proud to announce a landmark partnership with the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust (WHT) to jointly support an outstanding Pakistani graduate student at the University of Oxford.
Starting in the 2026 academic year, this scholarship goes beyond financial support — it provides access to the renowned Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Leadership Programme, offering scholars long-term mentoring, leadership development, and a world-class network of peers and alumni.
What the Scholarship Covers
This is a fully funded opportunity. The WHT–OPP Scholarship provides comprehensive support for your entire degree.
University & College Fees
Full coverage of University and College fees for the entire duration of your fee liability — from day one to the end of your course.
Living Cost Grant
A grant for living costs of at least £20,780, ensuring you can focus fully on your studies and leadership development without financial worry.
WHT Leadership Programme
Exclusive access to the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Leadership Programme — long-term mentoring, leadership workshops, and a global network of change-makers.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the WHT–OPP Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria.
Nationality
You must be ordinarily resident in Pakistan to be eligible for this scholarship.
Course
You must be applying to start a new, full-time graduate course at Oxford. Not all courses are eligible — check the official WHT course list to confirm yours qualifies.
Commitment to Return
You must intend to return to Pakistan once your course is completed and contribute to the country's development.
Leadership Potential
You must demonstrate a clear connection between your subject of study and your longer-term career objectives, specifically how your work will improve public life in Pakistan.
Please note: Candidates holding deferred offers for 2026–27, or current Oxford students (unless already WHT scholars), are not eligible for this scholarship.
How to Apply
There is no separate application portal for this scholarship — it is integrated into the University of Oxford graduate application process.
Apply for Your Graduate Course
Submit your application for graduate study by the relevant December or January deadline for your specific course via the University of Oxford's admissions system.
Select the Scholarship
In the "University of Oxford Scholarships" section of the application form, select the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme.
Submit the WHT Statement
Complete and upload the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships Statement together with your graduate application by the deadline. This statement is crucial for assessing your leadership potential and commitment to public service.
Submit the OPP Application
Submit the online application form on the OPP Graduate Scholarship Portal. The portal will go live on 15th March 2026.
Selection Process & Timeline
To be eligible for scholarship consideration, you must first be offered a place on your course after the December or January deadline.
Course Application
Submit your Oxford graduate course application by the relevant December or January deadline, selecting the WHT scholarship and uploading the WHT Statement.
Interviews
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview, likely held online, to assess leadership potential, commitment to Pakistan, and academic excellence.
Final Decisions
Successful applicants will be notified by the end of May 2026 and will receive full details of their scholarship offer and next steps.
